FREE Washington D.C. Youth Tour Trip

It is that time of year again– When the applications for our all expenses paid trip to the Washington D.C Youth Tour are coming due! Let all of the current high school juniors in your life know that the applications are due by 5:00 PM December 31st. What a fantastic thing to fill out over a holiday break!

Each summer, electric cooperatives in more than forty states send approximately 1,800 high school students to our nation’s Capitol to learn about government, cooperatives and rural electrification. Consumers Power will be one of the many participating co-ops from around the country.

While in Washington, D.C., students will have the opportunity to visit many historic sites like the Civil War Battlefield in Gettysburg, George Washington’s Home and Grounds, the Smithsonian Museums. They spend time with many of our legislators that represent us in Washington, and even have time for a dance that in years past was held on a boat cruising up the Potomac River.
