Weatherization Program

Only purchases made between October 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012 qualify.

The goal of the Weatherization Program is to make existing homes more energy efficient and more comfortable. The focus of the program is on homes that use electricity as the primary heat source and can save significant kilowatt hours through attempts to upgrade the entire eligible heating living area of the home (such as bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, etc.) in order to reduce heating costs. Unheated areas such as garages, porches, etc. are not eligible.

The current Weatherization Program helps insulate the ceiling, floors, and walls of your home. Consumers Power Inc., will pay 25% of the contractor-installed cost, up to a maximum of $500. Self-installed materials are also reimbursed at 25% with a maximum of $500 but for materials only and copies of all receipts submitted to Consumers Power Inc.

As a general rule minimum insulation levels should be:

  • Attics R-38
  • Floors R-30
  • Walls R-11

All qualified improvements are required to meet Oregon State Codes and pass final inspection by a Consumers Power Inc., Marketing Representative.

For additional information and the proper procedures to follow, call us at 541-929-8520 or 800-872-9036 x 8520 or e-mail us at info@cpi.coop.
